Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of approximately 113 identified cannabinoids identified in cannabis and industrial hemp plants. A phytocannabinoid discovered in 1940, CBD accounts for up to 40% of the plant’s raw material. As of 2019, preliminary clinical research on cannabidiol included studies of anxiety, cognition, movement disorders, inflammation, and pain.
